Audio Editing

While most English teachers will not do audio editing at their Japanese schools, there may be times when this can be helpful.  Personally, I have used this to record English Hour, a 5-10 minute school broadcast that helps to generate student interest in English.

This tutorial will introduce users to Audacity, a free audio editing application.  This software can also be used for a variety of non-educational purposes.

The necessary software is attached below. However, for users of the official version, the FFmpeg and LAME libraries must be installed into the “\Audacity\App\” directory of the official portable apps package. I also recommend that users save as compact WMV files for the best overall compatibility, quality, and size.
